Q: Does insurance cover therapy and what insurance plans do you accept?

A: Most insurance carriers cover therapy services. Sora Therapy is an in-network provider for all major carriers including:

Q: How are services at Sora Therapy different from services offered through the school district?

A: Therapy at Sora Therapy is provided in a one-on-one (one therapist to one child) setting. Parents are encouraged to observe and participate in therapy sessions and are given individual instruction on how to continue therapy activities at home. Many children participate in therapy at Sora Therapy in addition to receiving school-based therapy.

Sora Therapy also evaluates and treats many children who do not meet the strict criteria needed to qualify for school-based services. Many children who do not qualify for services in the school may still benefit from therapy services.

Q: Does my child need therapy?

A: If you have any concerns regarding your child’s development, we recommend scheduling a comprehensive evaluation. This evaluation will compare your child’s abilities to those of other children his/her age. Results of the evaluation will provide you and your family with the information you need to make an informed decision about the need for services.

Q: What if my insurance does not cover therapy?

A: If you are not covered by health insurance or if your specific plan does not reimburse for therapy, private pay options are available. We have worked with many insurance plans and successfully appealed denials. We are willing to work with you to advocate for coverage of therapy services.

Q: We started therapy elsewhere. Can we transition our care to you?

A: Absolutely. Call our intake line to begin the process of transferring care.

Q: What holidays are you closed on?

Sora Therapy is closed on the following dates:

  • New year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Please note that we are not associated with any school district and we do not follow an academic calendar for non­-school days or weather ­related closings. 

Unscheduled Closure Procedure 
In the event of an unscheduled clinic closing due to weather or other reasons, we will notify affected patients by phone. Closing information will also be available on our voicemail at 763-755-4275 and our website SoraTherapy.com.
